If you like fast-action, martial arts movies then check out “Kill Zone 2”.
At first, I thought “hey, this is a little too violent for me”, but I kept going and got involved with the story. Hong Kong police officer Kit (Wu Jing) goes undercover and ends up in a Thai prison fighting prison guard, Chai (Tony Jaa).
These two men, who don’t know each other, find out that their lives are intertwined. At first, they fight against each other, both escaping impossible situations with their lives and all their limbs. Then there’s a turning point when they decide to trust each other and work towards achieving the same goal.
When the Odds Are Against You
The situation is dire — Chai’s daughter needs a bone marrow transplant and she’s running out of time. His boss (Zhang Jin) at the prison finds out and offers money to help Chai.
Unfortunately, that money has strings tying the prison boss to the evil human organ black market and directly to a wealthy man who wants to keep on living. He needs a transplant to keep on ticking. Wealth and power make him ruthless. Many men die fighting to keep him alive. What a waste!
There are enough sweet moments to capture your heart and make you hold out hope for the little girl and her father.
This film is a great reminder to never give up even in the face of defeat after defeat. Exhausting, but well worth it in the end.
The bone-crunching, deadly martial arts sequences made me want to rewind and watch the movie again.
Holy broken bones!
They take so many hard shots! I wondered whether the actors have rubber bones. Obviously not. In the bonus sections on the DVD, you can hear about the damage different actors sustained.
Kill Zone 2 is coming out on DVD on July 19, 2016. Get it. Watch it.
